Resin Floor For An Office HQ Conference Facility

Showcasing an unusual combination of hi-tech and natural materials, the floor of the new conference facility at Mothercare's UK Headquarters features a warm beech centre section, with a white perimeter border of hard-wearing, resin flooring supplied and installed by Ryebrook Resins Ltd.

Ryebrook's Flooring Solution

Traditionally associated with more industrial settings, Ryebrook has noticed a recent shift in attitudes to resin floors with many more commercial locations specifying this intensely practical option. With over twenty standard colours to choose from, as well as a selection of quartz or terrazzo finishes, the opportunities for design creativity are unlimited.

Protecting the white resin floor from discolouring, the solvent-free, epoxy selfsmoothing Ryeflow 5000 screed was coated with a UV resistant finish.

The Flooring Process

Mothercare's new 466m² conference and presentation suite was formally an HR training facility and office accommodation. The Ryebrook installation team first used a mechanical diamond grinder to prepare and key the original concrete floor
and remove remnants of latex and adhesive debris before making good surface cracks and filling bay joints with epoxy resin mortar and grout.

The Floor Screed Finish

The perimeter area was then primed before being laid with Ryeflow 5000 to a thickness of 5mm, ensuring the resin floor was flush with the centre wood section. To reduce the risk of the white floor fading in sunlight, a UV resistant coating was finally
laid to give an attractive silk finish.

The resulting seamless resin floor delivers aesthetic impact whilst still being easy to clean and maintain, ensuring it will look good for many years to come.
